The brand-new ultra-high corrosion-resistant zinc-aluminum-magnesium coated product, BaoXM Plus™, developed by the core technology team of the Central Research Institute, has successfully completed its first industrial trial production at Baosteel's Masteel facility.
This breakthrough not only adds a high-performance member to Baosteel's GalvAluMag® (zinc-aluminum-magnesium) premium product family but also marks a key step forward in China's R&D and industrialization of high-performance steel for extreme corrosive environments.
The product achieves innovations in coating microstructure through unique composition design and process optimization.
As a result, it significantly outperforms conventional aluminum-magnesium-based alloys in planar corrosion resistance, particularly in critical cut-edge protection, and is specifically tailored for harsh outdoor climates with high salinity and high humidity.
It can meet the increasingly stringent material lifespan requirements in heavy anti-corrosion applications such as coastal photovoltaic installations, offshore platforms, and cross-sea bridges.
